Just received my order from Alkemia. I ordered 10 samples and Sharra threw in two more for good measure.
Included in my order are four of her new releases: Madam X, Ardere, Terrae, and Caliph’s Beloved.
I can’t wait to try them all! If you haven’t checked out Alkemia, run don’t walk to Sharra’s etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Alkemia
This is my first order from 52teas. 52teas is the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab of the tea world. 52teas is an artisan handcrafted tea company. Like BPAL, they have a catalogue of unique and unorthodox flavors such as Graveyard Mist, The Witching Hour, and Peanut Buttercup Cheesecake Honeybush. A new flavor is created every week and is available only for a limited time. Once it is gone, it is gone forever. They sell out before the week is up — a sign that they must be pretty good darn teas!

Long time no post! I apologize for my unexplained absence. Life got in the way. I’ve gone back to school and the sheer amount of work required has been excessive. Unfortunately, I have had no time to sniff and post but I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. I can’t promise I will be posting on a regular basis but I promise I will share my exciting new discoveries!
Lately, I have an obsession with loose leaf teas. There is something about tea that makes me relaxed and calm. Just as perfume, the aroma is cathartic with the added bonus perfume doesn’t provide — you can savor the flavor! As a matter of fact, I wrote a post about the similarities betweeen tea and perfume. You can check it out here. Late night studying makes me sleepy and I tend to snack to keep me awake. Tea helps keeps me awake without excess consumption of calories. (Remember the Freshmen Ten?)
I recently discovered a loose leaf tea company from Canada called DavidsTea. To me, DavidsTea is like Lush or Bath & Bodyworks but for tea. They bring tea to the masses which is pretty cool! Everyone should drink tea. Tea does a body good! Their tea menu is extensive, it’s enough to make your head spin! They have so many different kinds of teas and flavors to choose from such as Black, Green, Oolong, Rooibos, and Tisane blends. It was hard to choose just three…

Right now Winter and Spring are at war with each other. Just when Spring is here to stay, a somber darkness moves in turning the sky a sullen gray. While others can’t wait to see the back of Winter, I’m holding on as long as I can. My favorite perfumes are winter fragrances and it saddens me that they will be hibernating in my drawer soon to make room for light florals and fresh greens for Spring. I know what you’re going to say, “Who cares about the season? Just wear what you want!”. I wish I could but it doesn’t feel right wearing a heavy winter fragrance in the spring or summer. For me, it feels like wearing a long, heavy wool coat in the 80 degree weather. I feel inappropriately dressed as far as I’m concerned.
Firebird Tobacco Honey and Alkemia Miel de Sauvage et Tabac were my favorites in my winter wardrobe — two cold weather fumes I’m surely going to miss… Continue reading

I apologize for being M.I.A for the past couple of weeks. My sleep clock has been out of whack, I’ve had to deal with family health issues, and now I have a bad case of the cold. Since my nose is out of commission, I’m going sit back and hand my husband the blogging reins. The above picture is my husband’s perfume stash, he has managed to acquire these bottles and samples in the past six months. I find it astonishing that he has managed to collect 8 full bottles in such a short span of time. Mind you, he had absolutely zero interest in perfumes and couldn’t understand my keen interest in fragrances. Now he is addicted to perfume reviews on youtube (robes08 aka The Fragrance Guru are practically best buds now) and impulsively orders fumes online. I don’t know whether to be happy or frightened that he is sharing my perfume obsession, but the dude can’t stop smelling things!
So without further ado, introducing Mr. Olfactory Obsessed’s perfume collection and his rather unconventional description of each scent…
I’ve been home since Thursday. It was nice to get away, spend time with my husband and my in-laws. I don’t know if I’m still jet-lagged, but I’m not in the headspace to write reviews as of yet. I’m still trying to firmly plant my feet on the ground.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go to Dublin. We just couldn’t be bothered, so we chilled out in and around Belfast. We did go sniffing for a day and I can’t wait to share the goodies I brought back with me. Expect a haul soon, both olfactory and edible! 😀[Image 1] via Gattina on Photobucket
